Great results in your Spanish progess

- The first benefit is simple. It Works. Learning Spanish with an Intensive Course in Spain is extremely EFFECTIVE. The language exposure 5 days a week, 4 hours a day make it become part of your life. It isn’t just some class you have once a week among your many other activities and work problems. Spanish is in your day, every day. Being in the country and actively using and practicing what you just learned speeds the memorizing and understanting process.
- Even though our Intensive Spanish Courses in Spain are focused on communication, taking them is even more beneficial in Spain. You don’t only speak with your teacher, you speak with everybody. People in Spain are generally either not so fluent in English or shy to use it. Thus, you will be surrounded by Spaniards that will be more than happy to speak with you in Spanish. Furthermore, all these courses have a big social factor. You will be likely to go out with other students from school in the evenings. Being sorrounded by other people that just like you are motivated in learning Spanish and are undergoing the same challenges as you, builds a team spirit that help you to relax and dare to speak. You will help each other and laugh about your funny mistakes instead of putting to much pressure on yourself.

Really disconnect during your Intensive Spanish Course in Spain

- It might not be the ideal option for your holidays at first sight. Why spend every morning four hours in a classroom instead of going to the beach or hiking right away? Having to concentrate and learn instead of relaxing 24/7 under the sun? If you want to have a completely lazy holiday then taking an Intensive Spanish Course in Spain is not the best option. But, if you are looking for a change of surrooundings and forgetting your responsabilities and problems back home, than this might be the perfect holiday for you. Learning Spanish needs your attention. The hours in class and the time you spent going through the contents at home or at the beach keep your head bussy. Do you know the feeling when you are lying at a paradise-like beach but you can’t stop thinking about the one project at work or the next deadlines you will have to meet. Learning Spanish helps you clear your head and forget about many things you would otherwise be thinking about.
- A new life for a short period. Like any other great abroad life experience taking an Intensive Spanish Course in Spain make you dive in a new life for a short period of time. It is like a miniature version of an Erasmus year abroad. You have a new routine (going to class in the morning, to the beach in the evenining…), you make a new group of friends with the other students in school, you might even start to greet your Spanish neighbours or local food seller every morning. Even if only for a month, it feels like a small break from your life. Have you had the feeling that your life has been the same for years? Work-lazy holidays-work… This strong change in a short period of time will help you take a break and look back with renewed energy and perspective at your life back home.
- A new language is a door to a new world of possibilities. Even if you just learn Spanish for fun. Learning a new language always expands your horizons. New music, new other artistic expressions, having deeper conversations with people from other cultures… If you don’t have time in your day to day life back home to experience such enriching adventures, take some part of your yearly holidays to do something interesting that might have a significant impact on your world view.

Our Intensive Courses

How Intensive does an Intensive Spanish Course in Spain get?

At the beginning of this article we pointed out some benefits of an Intensive Spanish course in Spain. If you are commited to your course and enjoy learning Spanish you will have a great experience and learn a lot. In our Spanish School in Spain you can count on learning one or two complex gramar topics every week. These complex topics are presented in an intuitive and communicative way. Then, they are thoroughly explained, and all along practiced with many communication excercises. Every day you learn a douzen of new words. You get to know a new topic one day that you understand only partially. The next day you practice it with lots of examples and you end up understanding it very well. The next days you learn a few more details about it and dominate all around this topic. By the end of each week you feel you understand the language much better than on Monday and you can speak far more.
Keeping up with the rythm of the course is, indeed, very important. If you are very good at learning languages than you might not even need to spend anytime after class learning. If not, you should spend 30 to 60 minutes a day just getting over the topics of the morning and learning vocabulary. The most fun part of learning a language is speaking it, but if you have to think too much about words and sentence structure it will be difficult to produce any communication. If you are not understanting everything in class and don’t dedicated a couple of minutes to learn in the evenings, you might feel out of place in class by the end of the week. It is not necessary to learn like when you were a school, you can even go through the contents and vocabulary at the beach – the prefered option of our students.
However, the reward is great. Just so that you get an idea, here are the things you will be able to do while you progress in your Intensive Spanish Course in Spain:
- after 1 week you will be able to ask and give basic personal information (job, nationality…), to speak about your hobbies and those of your family and friends.
- after 2 weeks you will describe your city and what you love about it. You will also be able to discover a new city in Spain, move through it, learn about the cultural and leisure activitities that it offers…
- after 3 weeks you will be able to go shopping. You can already express neccesity, desire, obligation. You will feel that you are already at another level.
- after 4 weeks you have consolidated all basic gramar structures and will be used to speaking in basic contexts using the present tense.
- after 8 weeks you will have learned the Spanish past tenses and how to use them. You will have enough vocabulary to speak about life, past experiences and how you have become the person that you are today. Thus, you will be able to really get to know somebody in Spanish.
- after 12 weeks of Intensive Spanish Course in Spain you are already a fluent Spanish speaker and can handle a conversation about almost every topic. You can speak about your future desires, beliefs, emotions…

The Fun Factor of your Intensive Spanish Course in Spain

Although we take your time/money insvestment in your Intensive Spanish Course in Spain very serious, we know how to teach you Spanish in a fun way. We present gramar topics in different ways: intuitve with many examples, in a structured way, with communication excercises. And we practice it by speaking. Written excercises are given for homework whenever the teacher feels it is necessary. But we make the best out of our common shared time in class to speak. And you can do it as serious as it gets, but in a fun way. Let’s take a complex topic like one of the many past tenses. What if you learn it in a communication excercise where you have to find out which of your classmates have done the craziest things. Sometimes you forget that you are in class learning. You are laughing, having fun… and by the end of the day you realize you have finally understood how to use this past tense.

The unique climate of the Canary Islands allows us to enjoy our city and our countryside any time of the year. Even in the coldest months in winter temperatures stay close to 20°C thanks to Africa’s warm air. What about summer? In the warmest months the North Atlantic wind visits us and takes care of guaranteeing mild temperatures between 25°C and 30°C.
The perfect weather to enjoy your Intensive Spanish Course in Spain! Mid in the cosmopolitan city of Las Palmas you will find Las Canteras beach: 4 kilometers of white sand full of surf and diving schools and without the faults of mass tourism. Discover your favorite spot! However, Gran Canaria is more than just a beautiful city and nice beaches. Every corner of this volcanic island offers different landscapes: from 2.000m peaks in the heart of the island to incredible cliffs in the north.Las Palmas a city with history.

Las Palmas – a city with history for your Intensive Spanish Course in Spain

Our history starts with a mystery: the guanches. An ancient culture that arrived in the islands 2.000 years ago. They brought a fascinating culture full of mystic rituals. They didn’t know how to sail so, how did they get here? It is only the first question of a thrilling journey across Spanish history in Gran Canaria. Did you know that Christopher Columbus started writing the story of America in the Canary Islands? In 1492 prior to embarking in the most important journey in the history of humanity, the famous adventurer chose Gran Canaria for the last arrangements of his heroic mission.
Our school is just a couple of steps away from the House of Columbus which brings us closer to this exciting episode. You will be able to breathe history in every corner in the historic center. Columbus’ journey converted the Canary Islands into the gate between Europe & America. Just like our Intensive Spanish Courses in Spain.
This constant exchange between continents and the commercial boom the islands experienced in the centuries that followed deeply transformed the rich Canarian culture with lots of Latin-American influences.
